Capacity, Technology and Quality Control

PRIME BOND, with its two ACP manufacturing lines, has an installed capacity of 2 million square meter of ACP per year. The manufacturing plant has superior production technology that provides excellent homogeneity to the core. The manufacturing line is based on hot catalytic fusion mechanism which employs eight-stage rollers for online lamination and gives PRIME BOND ACP a competitive edge.

The adhesive film used for lamination is made with a process using full blown technology, hence the adhesive film ensures superior bonding at any given Sq mm, The pre-coated coils are coated with (Kynar 500) based PVDF paint and the core is LDPE.

The product is tested for durability, shade quality, tensile strength, weather proofing, flatness and smoothness.

What is ACP?
Production Process
  • ACP (Aluminum Composite Panel) is a modern building cladding material used primarily for external facades and is now increasingly used for interiors.
  • ACP consists of an extruded polyethylene core sandwiched between two aluminum sheets.
  • The top exterior skin is always color coated (pre painted using a coil coating process) in various shades and grades of paints as per the facade outlay / requirement specified by the architects.
Production Process
  • The Aluminum Coil for the top skin can be painted in attractive finishes such as,
  • Solid colours in a 2 Coat - 2 Bake system (20 - 25 Microns) Metallic colours in a 3 Coat - 3 Bake system
    (32 - 35 Microns) PET film laminated for Interiors (Marble finish / Granite finish / Wood grain finish etc.)
  • Paints Mainly PVDF (Exterior) & Polyester (Interior)
  • Panel Thickness - 1 mm to 6 mm
  • Panel Width - 1220 mm
  • Maximum Length - 6 Meters

Extrusion-lamination is used to combine two different substrates using molten polymers. This process combine advantages of both co-extrusion and lamination processes.

It is a highly versatile process allowing combination of various substrates (i.e.: paper, metal, and plastic films) and different thicknesses with high level of quality.

The main polymer used as tie layer in extrusion-lamination are based on EMA and EBA copolymers, E / EA / MAH terpolymers or grafted polymers.
